Card for a new Doctor

Our son completed the last day of his medical residency today and we are about as proud as two parents could be.  Congratulations Dr. Nagle!!!  I found this great stamp from Impression Obsession to make his card.  It really is perfect for this occasion.

I couldn't find an embellishment that I liked and thought a watch would be good to symbolize all the time he's spent at the hospital over the past 3 years.  I used the pocket watch from Stampin' Up's Clockworks set.  I stamped and embossed it with gold twice, cut out the middle of one and glued in a circle of acetate for the crystal.  Then I stamped the roman numeral clock face and hands onto the other one and sponged some Distress ink on to make it look old.  I used silicone glue to attach the two pieces so it has a 3-D look to it like a real watch!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Night of Navy & Apricot Appeal, Basic Grey-Hang 10, Karen Foster Design-Heart Beep
Stamps:  Impression Obsession - Doctor's Bag, Stampin' Up - Clockworks
Inks, Momento - Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip
Miscellaneous: navy grosgrain ribbon, acetate, silicone glue, large brads.
