Doctor Graduation

Our son finished his medical residency in June and we attended the graduation.  We are so very proud of him and all his accomplishments.  It was a very happy day.  Here is the card that I made for him…

The sentiments are both from My Favorite Things.  Sorry but I didn't write down the other supplies I used for this one.

Snappy Birthday

A friend posted a message on Facebook about a mom asking for birthday cards for her soon to be 6 year old son, Danny.  It seems he has an inoperable brain tumor and all he wants for his birthday are cards.  I'm really glad that I saw this in time to get a card out to him.  In case you want to send one, too…here is the information.

Danny Nickerson
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

Here is the card I sent.  I used a cute set from Stampin' Up called Crab & Company.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Stampin' Up - Crab & Company
Cardstock: Stampin' Up - Pink Passion, Craft an black, watercolor paper
Inks:Stampin' Up - Craft White, Memories - black
Markers:  Assorted Tombo Markers
Dies : Spellbinder circles
Miscellaneous:  Small circle punches, ribbon, chalks for sky & ground, ribbon, white gel pen (for shrimp eyes), washi tape

Here's a picture of the inside of the card.  I used my computer to make the message because I didn't have a stamp that said what I wanted to say…and then I decorated the inside with washi tape.  I'm loving using Washi tape to make the inside of my cards more interesting.  If you are like me, you get so busy making the front of the card cute that you forget the inside until you have everything cleaned up.  Washi tape is so quick and easy and adds just a splash of color to tie it all together!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a "Snappy Day" too!

Red, White & Blue

For this card I pulled out my brass embossing stencils from Lasting Impressions.  I haven't used them in ages.  I know you can use your Big Shot to emboss them, but I like using my light box so I did it the old fashioned way!  The little flip flops are so cute and so Florida!!  I needed some red and white striped paper to make it look more patriotic and I didn't have any so I got out some white, a red marker and my metal ruler (it has cork on the back so the marker won't bleed underneath) and I made some.  It was pretty easy and just what my card needed :)

Supplies Used:

Cardstock: Stampin Up Night of Navy
Inks: Distress Inks: Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany
Embossing Templates: United We Stand, flip flops (sorry no longer available)

Miscellaneous: star punch, red marker & metal ruler (to make striped paper)

I hope you like it.  Have a great holiday!
