Fun in the Sun

Today I used a Pure Innocence set from My Favorite Things called Fun in the Sun.  I wanted the raft to look like it was floating on water so I started by doing the polished stone technique with shades of blue.  To see a tutorial on how to do the polished stone technique click here.  You need glossy card stock, rubbing alcohol and reinkers.  I used alcohol reinkers.  To make the piece shiny like water I covered the polished stone with Versamark embossing ink by dabbing the ink pad all over the card stock.  I used clear Amazing Glaze embossing powder and heated.  I repeated this step 2 more times until the surface was nice and shiny.

I mounted the water piece onto kraft card stock and added a Kraft frame cut with the Stitched Rounded Rectangle Frames from MFT.  I colored the little girl and her raft with Copics and then cut her out. The beach bag and ball stamps were perfect to embellish the sentiment on the corner of my card.  The cute little sunglasses were cut using the Fun in the Sun dies that go along with the stamp set.  The next photo shows the shine better, it is so cool.  It really looks like water!!

When I was doing the polished stone technique, I tried out some different blues and this one came out a lighter color.  It looks more like pool water to me!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Keep stamping!!
