Outlines

I've been having fun playing with my Outlines stamps this week.  Combine them with Copics and decorative paper and the cards seem to make themselves!

Round Easel Card

This card was inspired by one I saw on Suzanne Dean's blog.  I used a Lili of the Valley stamp called Rosie Posey and Basic Grey Paper.  The paper is from the Indian Summer collection and is called Autumn Glaze.  I loved all of the colors and texture in it.

D-E-F Chunky Book Pages

Phew, I finished my most recent pages and got them into the mail.  I was stressed because life kept getting in the way of my creativity.  Our router died and I had to deal with that ASAP.  I don't know if you are as addicted to your computer as I am...but I can't live without it anymore!!  Anyway, here are the new pages I made.  Hope you like them.  If you have any questions...please ask!!

Busy

I've been so busy unmounting my Stampin Up stamps that I haven't had any time to post.  I have to say that I'm love, love, loving the new system.  Thanks to Alita and Cathy for getting me started and helping me figure out exactly what to do.  I now have 5 empty shelves that will go a long way in helping me tidy up my stamp room and with my stamps all organized by category it will be so much easier to find what I'm looking for!!  Since I'm not posting cards or projects right now, I decided to list some blogs that I like to look at so if you stop by there will be something you can check out for inspiration!!  I'll be adding to the list and I'll be posting soon so please come back.  I don't want to lose you!!

9/11

I try not to harbor hate today.  Instead I give thanks for living in this wonderful country and all of the blessings it affords me.  Operation Write Home is a way our cardmaking can help...

Zentangle

My good friend, Jan Ross, does really wonderful zentangles.  She comes up with the most creative doodles for filling in the space.  She spent many hours on this one that she made for her granddaughter.  She started out with a sailboat theme and it developed from there!  I'm happy that she gave me permission to share it with you!!

Grrrr

I tried for over an hour to post those ABC pictures in order and I can't do it.  I don't understand why...but I give up!

Chunky ABC

I signed up for a Chunky ABC swap with the British Yahoo Group called Katy's Corner.  They are a great group.  For this swap we have to make and send 3 pages a month so it will take a while to finish the book.  Here are my A - B and C pages.  I'll post what I get back too so you can see them!

Young, Old

Sorry I've been missing in action.  I was up in New England visiting our sons.  I had a great time, but it's good to be back home.  This is a card that I adapted from one that I saw at Bella Arts in Johnston, RI.  It's a great store if you are ever in the area!

I wanted to add texture on this card so I mixed 3 green Flower Soft colors for the tree.  I tried something new for the flowers.  I put dots of Liquid Applique, heated them and then snipped off the top of each.  It left a ring with an indented center on most.  I really like how it looks!

Paisley truck

I used wrapping paper for the background of this card.  I liked it so much that I shrunk it down on the copier and printed it out on glossy paper for the truck.  I wanted a shiny paint job!!  I was really pleased with the results. The stamps are in a set is called "Loads of Love" from Stampin' Up.  The tires are made with black fun foam and large brads!

New Video

I follow Taylored Expressions Blog and this morning she introduced some new dies that are specific to her stamp sets.  She posted a video showing how to use them.  I thought it was pretty cool.  If you want to see it...scroll way down to the bottom of my blog and click on the play button!      I have to admit...I was a little distracted by her wedding ring...it's gorgeous!!

Angels Deco Pages

I finished the Deco pages for Nora today.  Her theme is Angels.  I did the background with Memories Mist from Stewart Superior.  They are  pigment mist sprays that dry quickly with a matte finish.  I used Lavender Tea, Blue Hawaiian, Merlot and Blueberry Shake.   Pink Ink Glimmer Mist  added a bit of Sparkle.  The angels are from a retired Stampin Up set called Angelic.  They'll be on their way to England as soon as I get them packaged up and to the post office!

Penguin with sign

Another photo of a card I took at CHA Orlando.  The penguin is from Shirley's 2 Girls.  Kristine, one of the "Girls" gave me permission to post this card.  I really like the humor in their images and their gallery is a great place to go for inspiration!

Hero Arts Christmas

I'm still thinking about Christmas.  If I was smart, I'd be working on my Christmas cards instead of blogging...LOL!  Looking for inspiration, I came across a photo I took at CHA Orlando of this simple card made with Hero Arts stamps.  Maybe it will help you get into the Christmas mood!

While I was looking for the link for this post I found out that Hero Arts has their entire catalog on line for you to look at!  It's really amazing.  It feels like you are thumbing through a real catalog.  And there are lots of great card ideas.  You can check it out here!!  Just click on the bottom right corner of the catalog to turn the page.  Love it!!

The link above is for the regular catalog.  If you want to see the holiday catalog that has the Holiday Dolls stamps in it, click here.  AND if you have time...they have and Artists Proofs Catalog, too!!  It's gorgeous!!

Gift Card holder cover

My friend Nadine reminded me that it's time to start thinking about Christmas.  I made gift card holders for gifts last year.  Here's the one I made for Cathy.  It will take me a couple of days to post all of the pictures.  It is basically decorated chip board covers and dividers with plastic sleeves (name badge holders...you can get them at Walmart!) in between.  There are 3 sleeves behind each divider so there's plenty of room to store gift cards.  My gift included one card in each category.

Mosaic

Mosaic is one of my favorite techniques.  It works real well with this bowl of apples from Lockhart Stamp Company.

She owls

I was wondering what the new Stampin' Up owl would look like with eyelashes...pretty cute, huh?!!

Art Impressions Window

I made this card a while ago but it is a favorite.  I used Art Impressions window and watercolor stamps and added some Delphinium Blue Flower Soft.  They work really well together!

More Side Step Cards

Side step cards offer the opportunity for a lot of creativity.  Karen Gebauer and Judy Stevenson, from Sheri's swap group,  were kind enough to approve me posting their wonderful side step cards for you to see!  Aren't they great??!!  This one is Karen's...ahhhh, the beach!

Another one!

Judy made this card.  Her jungle theme is perfect!

I made these pages for Vix a while ago.  The theme for her book is "Wings".

Question

I need your help...which pictures look better to you?  Are the closer up ones good enough...or should I post them super sized like the Alice ones?

Closer Deco pictures

I'm not happy with the deco book pictures I've posted.  Here are some closer.  Hopefully they will be better.

I love color

It never ceases to amaze me.  You do exactly the same thing except you change the colors and BAM...you have a new card!!  I love the fish in this set from Stampin' Up.  The set is called "It's Beachy"!!
