This cheerful little birthday card was made with a Stampin' Up set called Endless Birthday Wishes. I liked the cute little cake as soon as I saw it. The set has a lot of great sentiments to go along with it, too. 
I used all of the different sentiments to make my own decorative paper for the background. I chose ink colors that matched the plaid layer that I put behind it. The plaid is from a paper pack from My Favorite Things called Plaid Patterns Merry & Bright . When I was finished stamping the words I didn't think it was festive enough so I inked up one dot of the dots stamp and used it to stamp dots randomly among the words. I added some clear Stickles dots, too!
I like interactive cards so I hid a little flip up message on the front of the card under the birthday cake!
I used the MFT Stitched Mini Scalloped Circle STAX to make the flip up. I folded a piece of pink card stock and placed the die so about an inch of the fold was inside the cutting edge of the die and wouldn't be cut. Then I cut another complete pink circle to lay on top. Two white circles for inside and top finished it off.
I stamped the cake on one of the circles and then I masked off the cake and stand and added some color to the background using my Clarity brushes. I added some darker ink with a short bristled brush to suggest a table. Next I colored the cake with Copic markers. To make the cake really special I added some white liquid appliqué for the frosting, put it on a cake stand stamped onto silver mirror card stock and added some glitter to the top of the candles. I have another dog card for you today. This time I used a little stamp from Rosie's Roadshow called Bentley. Rosie's Roadshow stamps are all small and they have a quirky sense of humor that I really like! This is one of my favorite because it looks just like our dog, Bella. It's a good stamp to build scenes around. The tree is from a Stampin' Up set called Festival of Trees. I used Ranger Distress inks to stamp the trees. The colors are Pine Needles and Peeled Paint. The frame was made using a Die-namics die from My Favorite Things called Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames.
I took some typing paper and cut 3 pieces with different wavy lines. I used them as masks to make the snowy hills and I used a Clarity brush to apply the Night of Navy ink. I am so in love with these brushes and the smooth soft look you get with them!! Once I got the hills done, I used the same masks and stamped the trees. The card seemed too flat so I stamped some more trees and added them with foam tape.
On the inside I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up set called Floral Phrases, a Die-namics die called Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX to echo the scalloped frame on the front and little Bentley again!

Yikes, it's been a long time since I've posted a card. I've been stamping, but usually had to keep the card secret because I didn't want the recipient to see it before they got it! I have quite a few cards that I can now post...hooray!!
I made this card to send to my son and daughter-in-law for their first anniversary! It's hard to believe that a year has already passed. We are so proud of them both and all they've accomplished in just one year!!
On this card I used the adorable Magical Dragons stamp set from My Favorite Things. The little prince and princess make the perfect couple! The colorful backdrop was made with dye inks and Clarity stencil brushes. Oh my goodness, I love these brushes!! They give better blends than anything I've ever used in all my years of stamping! The "congratulations" was made using a Papertrey Ink stamp and die set called Swooshes. It was a little tricky to position the stamped word onto the die cut word, but using the Misti it wasn't bad at all. Here is a picture of the front of the card...
I used black Staz-On ink to stamp the sword and crown onto mirror card stock and cut and pasted them on to add a little shine. The crown needed a jewel, too! The tiny hearts floating above the prince and princess were made with MFT Blueprints Tag Builder 5. I also added some sequins here and there.
Inside the card, I used my computer for the sentiment. The castle is from a retired Stampin' Up set called Dreams and Dragons. I checked and the set or the castle as a single item are available on ebay in case you need it! I colored the castle with Copics and added glitter to make it magical!
